Originally created as a regulating body and trade promoter in Douro in 1756; Real Companhia Velha celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2006 making it one of the oldest wine companies in existence.  Also known as the Royal Oporto Wine Company, they have been making high quality ports for centuries and in 1996 created a Fine Wine Division with all new viticulturists and winemakers to produce the best possible table wines from the noble Port grapes as well as classic European varieties.

Austins is an outstanding vineyard and winery at Sutherlands Creek, in the heart of the Moorabool Valley, north west of Geelong.  Richard Austin planted 150 acres of vines with the single-minded determination to produce the best pinot noir in the world. Austins now has 90 acres of pinot noir at Sutherlands Creek. We believe this is the second largest family holding of the variety in Australia.  The bonus for Richard and his family is that the soil and climate at Sutherlands Creek also does well with Riesling, Chardonnay and Shiraz.

Donnafugata grew out of the commitment of a family in Sicily that has always believed in the extraordinary enological potential of its land and has 150 years of experience in producing premium wines. Convinced that it is always necessary to be open to change in order to grow and improve, Giacomo Rallo and his wife, Gabriella, launched a new production project in 1983: Donnafugata. Their adventure took wing from the family's historic cellars in Marsala and the vineyards at Contessa Entellina in the heart of western Sicily and soared as far as the island of Pantelleria, making world class wines from the classic Sicilian grape varieties.

Castello di Verrazzano has a great tradition of winemaking; the vineyards situated in Verrazzano are mentioned in a manuscript which dates back to 1170 and is preserved at the abbey of Passignano and the estate has been a member of the Consorzio Chianti Classico since 1924, the year the consortium was established.  Verrazzano follows organic viticulture whereby the fertilization of the vines is completely organic and weeds are removed manually, not chemically.
